Many companies hire managers to keep company objectives on target.
They hire managers for the people, for the projects, for teams and divisions. Why do they do that? Well, the most obvious answer is that time is money. If it takes your people too much time to accomplish an objective, it will cause missed deadlines, missed opportunities, late charges, and all kinds of mayhem. So, companies appoint managers of all types to keep the operation flowing smoothly.
Most people operate the management of the many aspect of their homes. Perhaps one parent manages the kids' schedules and one parent manages the finances. One person may manage all the household duties or split it up or outsource it. No matter how you slice it, if you want something to get done, someone has to manage it. Or, it just doesn’t get done.
The same thing applies to our goals and dreams. If we aren’t managing it, no one will. That’s where an accountability coach comes in so handy. Consider her your “personal project manager”. If you know you want to accomplish a big goal or a lofty dream, but get caught up in the eddies of everyday life chasing #allthethings, an accountability coach can definitely help. One of the biggest requests I often hear is “If I only had someone to hold me accountable, I could *fill in the blank* (start that business and quit my J-O-B, lose that weight, start writing my book, tackle our vacation plans, etc.) It’s not that most people don’t know WHAT to do, it’s that they’d like support doing it!
Here are the three biggest reasons you would want to have your OWN personal project manager.
Your TIME is your biggest asset. If companies live and die by delivering goods on-time and under-budget, why should your personal life be any different? Every time you have a goal or a dream and you MISS opportunity to take action on it, you get one year older. You lose one more year of time to work on it. You miss getting things at lower prices. You risk the chance of dying without your goals and dreams coming true at all. How sad could that be?
Your ENERGY is your second biggest asset. Sure, they say we don’t use our whole brains. But, I don’t know about you, buy my brain can get overwhelmed sometimes just keeping track of appointments, events, deadlines, and what’s in the fridge for dinner! I manage my energy by getting really CLEAR on what really needs to happen each day between certain hours. I need to sleep. I need to help people prepare. I need to run my business and serve my clients. And somehow, it all gets done with a little bit of help from my support network! Wouldn’t you feel great knowing someone was supporting you and making sure you got your most important life goals on track?
Your MINDSET is key. Sometimes, when we are tricked by life’s “busyness”, our minds can spiral. We start telling ourselves all kinds of things that may not be true, we start to self-sabotage and we take our eye’s off the prize - if we can remember what the prize is! Remember, even coaches need coaches. When I learned that, a whole level of respect for support opened up in my life. Until then, I was doing everything alone. But, no one who has accomplished big things has done it alone. Having a personal project manager to identify your limiting beliefs, list out the action steps, and hold you accountable would be awesome, wouldn’t it?
One of the biggest pleasures that I have created by fulfilling my dream as a Success and Accountability Coach, is the relief I get to experience with clients who FINALLY get to check off the BIG things off of their to-do list. The things that required the most coordination, that got the least attention, and sat on the list the longest. When you put a little fiscal skin into the game by hiring an accountability coach, all of a sudden you take your goals more seriously. Again, it’s not that you CAN’T do it by yourself, but that it takes EXTRA ENERGY to do it by yourself - something most of us parents, caregivers, and spouses do not have. An accountability coach can give you structure around your goals, reminders, ideas, confidence, encouragement, love, a listening ear and of course… accountability. Buddies and groups just do not do this like your own coach… your own "personal project manager”.
There are a sea of people out there claiming to be able to help you! And, maybe they can. Every coach comes with their own set of strengths, skill sets and experience. One thing I could never live with was regret over the things I didn’t accomplish in my life. If you feel the same way and are looking for someone who is kind, efficient, focused and experienced at getting results for busy people just like you - then we should talk!
